Letter Of the Week

This Week the letter Of the Week was the letter "c" and the theme was fall leaves because She is so amazed At how the leaves are orange, yellow and red.

she glued the paper cookies i made on to the letter C and then we made chocolate chip cookies!

We went on a nature walk and she found a bunch of leaves that had changed colors and fallen. We talked about fall and how the leaves turn colors and fall off the trees to make room for the new leave that will grow in the spring, then she glued the leaves on a piece of paper and I added the tree trunk. 

I drew an uppercase letter C and a lowercase letter c and then let her glue cotton balls on. We talked about how cotton stats with the letter c and the sound that it makes.

This is a pintrest idea that i found, I let her trace the letters and pictures with water and a paint brush. She also had to tell me the letter and the sounds that they make.

Merry Christmas 2011

Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas!
This was our first Christmas with just us ; my husband, daughter and I. All of our other family had plans to go to Florida this year and since I am 34 ,about to be 35 weeks pregnant on tuesday, I cant travel. So I made Christmas dinner for my family for the first time .We made cookies opened presents and just had a nice relaxing time no rushing around or family drama lol

Tot school : animals

This month i really have been  taking time out to plan activities,read books and point out things to mariah that could help her learn about a certain subject. For example; the first 2 weeks i was teaching her about body parts eyes,ears,mouth ect. And i would make sure to point them out when taking a bath, i whent to the library and checked out books for her age that talked about body parts and had pictures and we even did some handprint foot print art and now as a result i can ask her where is a certain body part and she can point alot of them out for me! Its one of the most rewarding feelings to know i am teaching my daughter and she is really learning and enjoying it :)
So the rest of this month i am going to be teaching her animals. I have a kids dvd that sings O mc Donald and names all the animals and she looooves it. For snack i have been giving her animal crackers and pointing out the diffrent  animal shapes. We whent to the fair this weekend and to my surprise they had a petting zoo so Mariah actually got to see  and pet all the animals she sees in the books! And so far dawgy is her new favorite word.

Fun in the sun!

We had a super busy and fun weekend!! Mariah had alot  fun with family and friends and she experienced the pool for the first time!! i snapped a ton of pics :)

 Remember to put sunscreen on you and your baby doc recommend SPF of 30 or stronger i use the Aveeno baby sunblock SPF 55 and i bought this pink polka dot hat a target for 5 bucks and it keep the sun out of her eyes perfectly!!

Tupperware party

I gave Mariah her  own cabinet in the kitchen that she is allowed to open and play in. I filled it with extra Tupperware , some plastic lids, spoons, ice tray and toys .You know stuff we don't really use, this kept her occupied for 45 min today!!

I was able to wash dishes, cook breakfast and clean a little bit while she just sat and played

I read about  giving your baby a" cabinet to explore" in a magazine while I was pregnant 

Its such a good idea

"AHblablaH" she is saying She had lots of fun :)
