And you will reap what you sow

I know it has been FOREVER since iv written a blog i have been super busy with our new addition and chasing Mimi around the house, that blogging hasn't even been in my vocabulary. Well to update you a little bit our princess is now 22 months old and  will be 2 in July and Big boy is 12 weeks! Time is going by so fast and i am just trying to take everything in. Lately i have constantly been reminded of how blessed i am  to be able to be a stay at home mom with a husband who sees the importance of it, just as much if not more, then i do. It doesn't matter the circumstances my husband does what ever it takes for me to get to be the one raising, teaching, nurturing and influencing our children. These last couple of weeks i have kinda been taking staying at home with my kids for granted im not gonna lie its hard and there are times when i say to myself what am i doing putting my dreams on hold? i mean im young i could be out working or going to school and put the kids in day care or just give then to Grama.. But then i just couldn't imagine it, someone else getting to see my daughter go potty on the toilet for the first time? or someone else getting to teach her shapes and colors? or Someone else getting to see my son smile and laugh for the first time. O no i couldn't have that. The Lord has been showing me that all this hard work is paying off and its not in vain! Staying home with my children teaching them, being their main influence, teaching them about God , loving and nurturing them  and praying over them. Sowing into their lives and hearts not only will i reap but they will reap and their children will reap and their children's children will reap. What i am sowing now generations will reap!! I have been encouraged Iam anointed for motherhood and its a high calling.

How a lazy mamma gets motivated

I don't know about y'all but i am lazy... especially when it comes to getting out of bed and getting the day started and with being prego i am 10x more lazy, i mean i could stay in bed all day,  But with a busy 18 month old that's pretty much impossible. I thought i would jot down some of the things that iv learned from other mommies and what has been working for me to get me up, ready and motivated for my unpredictable day

  • First things first i start my day with a cup of tea or coffee its been tea lately i look foward to this warm goodness every morning
  • Shower and get dressed i know that's kinda like duh but this is the hardest thing for me i have to make myself do this  i could stay in my PJ's all day long and not have any problems with it( why waste a cute outfit on paint stains and poopy diapers) , but iv noticed i get so much more done when i shower, get dressed and put on a little make up annnd i feel better too
  • Eat a nice healthy breakfast this gives me strength and energy
  • Turn on the web stream or some up beat music and get your praise and worship on
  • Have a "to do list" made  of things you want to get done for the day and mark them off as you get them done
  • Ask the lord for grace and speak life over your day Ex. "Today is gonna be a good day I know the lord has something special planned"
  • Take a morning walk and get some fresh air
  • Go to bed early your gonna need that sleep

Tot school : animals

This month i really have been  taking time out to plan activities, read books and point out things to mariah that could help her learn about a certain subject. For example; the first 2 weeks i was teaching her about body parts eyes, ears, mouth ect. And i would make sure to point them out when taking a bath, i whent to the library and checked out books for her age that talked about body parts and had pictures and we even did some handprint foot print art and now as a result i can ask her where is a certain body part and she can point alot of them out for me! Its one of the most rewarding feelings to know i am teaching my daughter and she is really learning and enjoying it :)
So the rest of this month i am going to be teaching her animals. I have a kids dvd that sings O mc Donald and names all the animals and she looooves it. For snack i have been giving her animal crackers and pointing out the diffrent  animal shapes. We whent to the fair this weekend and to my surprise they had a petting zoo so Mariah actually got to see  and pet all the animals she sees in the books! And so far dawgy is her new favorite word.

"Train Your child up in the way that they should go..."

Some people don't agree with putting a baby on a schedule iv heard so many reasons why but the thing i hear the most is,  "you can't put a baby on a schedule it just doesn't work they kinda make their own schedule and do their own thing." well thats true they will do their own thing, if you let them they don't know any better, they will sleep all day and stay up all night and wont know a difference if you don't ever teach them or train them. Its our jobs as moms to show our babies the way and they need that. A schedule teaches a baby discipline even as a baby. The training the baby gets will guide him when he/she is older and they will be thankful for your guidance in the long run.  I feel like my daughter looks at me sometimes and says "Thanks mommy for making me take naps during the day, sometimes Im super sleepy but i fight it, I feel so much better after my nap." Get used to training and teaching your child your gonna be doing it for a long time. One of the things i love  about having my baby on a scheduel where she does pretty much the same thing around the same time every day is when she gets fussy i can just look at the time and know whats wrong so im never guessing or frustrated trying to calm her down because i know her exact need! Now there is nothing wrong with not putting your baby on a scheduel most people dont and thier baby turns out just fine but i know that it makes being a mommy so much easier and everything just flows <3
