Homemade Baby Food 101

Part of me was kind of overwhelmed with the idea of making my own baby food, but i really wanted to try it. So i did some reasearch and its a lot quicker easier then I thought ! Plain and simple baby food is just your food softened ,mashed up, and occasionally requiring a little added water. You can use a blender,  food puree or a plain old fork... 

Why homemade baby food? 

• You know all the ingredients 
• If your child gets allergies form a certain food you know exactly what from because it doesn't have all the extra ingredients and persevertives  
• Its teaches baby to enjoy real/ fresh food over processed food
• You actually save money because your making baby's food  right out of meals that you have already prepared for the rest of the family
• Your baby is getting a lot more nutrients 

Ice Cube Method!

  I think this is so awesome  about making and storing your baby food, so this is how it works. Get a ice cube tray and pour the left over baby food in it and then stick it in the freezer over night the next day when your ready to feed baby pop out a cube, thaw and  reheat it and Bam!  You can pop them all out and put them in a freezer zip lock bag, label it with the name of the food and date and then use the ice tray to make more. Baby food when stored in the freezer last for up to 3 months!!
